Today, the world..and most importantly The Internet!....got to find out about the new Xbox console. For anyone who leans towards gamer (or are gamer-adjacent) this was big news. I saw from Twitter that there was a lot of complaints about how there wasn't much talk of actual gaming. So, I googled Xbox One.
Please excuse the crude paint arrows, but I found it very amusing. All of the other review headlines are factual and generally benign. The one I clicked on was from wired.com mostly because I trust they know what they are talking about and the tagline seemed like it had the information I was looking for. Fox News, the question is.. Can the new Xbox One save gaming? Now...I have not read this article. Maybe there is some rhyme or reason for that headline but to me it sounds like FEAR, be fearful of everything. Do you love something? It's going away! Since the video game industry makes billons of dollars every year, I think it is safe to say it isn't in dire need of rescue. Even if the point of the article is to say mobile/casual gaming is becoming bigger..that headline is still over the top. I've always disliked Fox News for going the fear route constantly, and this is a great example.
